sporadic or inconsistent failures
Sporadic or inconsistent are difficult to fix if the machine is operating when it comes in. If the machine is not properly maintained, we will first address maintenance needs. Sometimes proper maintenance allows the machine to run optimally and solves the problem. If we cannot replicate the failure after 15 minutes, we will consult internally and call the manufacturer if necessary. They will give a number of potential reasons for the failure. We will then give the customer options and ask for direction on how they would like to proceed. In this process, if we replace a part that doesn't solve the problem, we will leave the replaced part installed on the machine, but its price to our cost. We will not remove the newly installed part or reduce labor. If a machine comes back for the same concern, it will go to the front of the line and the process will proceed from there.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If I purchased my machine at Wilkinson Supply, but it is a brand you no longer carry, will you service my machine?
Of course! Our promise to our customers is that we service what we sell. If you have purchased a machine whose brand we no longer carry, we will still do repair and maintenance work on your machine. And, as a benefit of purchasing your machine from Wilkinson Supply, you will receive a discounted labor rate, and decreased wait time.
Why can’t you service my off-brand machine? You‘ve serviced it before.
Our shop’s primary purpose is to support the machines we sell to our customers. In the past, our shop had the capacity to service both our customers, and customers from non-servicing retailers like big box stores and internet suppliers. Wilkinson Supply has been in business for 46 years, and has retailed over 80,000 machines. Our shop is now redirecting its focus to those machines. We are thankful for your past business, and will refer you to an alternate service center.
Will you call me before you work on my machine?
No, we do not call you before we work on your machine. When you bring your machine in, at the time of write up, we will give you what is called a call if over amount. We will factor known labor and parts charge estimations into this number. If the repair/maintenance cost is at or below that amount, we will do the work on the machine. This number is not a set in stone repair price.If the technician finds that the requested work will cost more than that amount, he will call and consult with you.
How does warranty work?
Warranty is for manufacturer defect. Warranty does not cover user issues such as fuel related repairs, running over a machine, lack of oil or proper maintenance, and wear parts like tires and belts. Machines that were purchased at Wilkinson Supply can have any and all warranty work performed here. We have your model & serial numbers, purchase date, and proof of purchase, so you just need to drop off your machine, inform us of the issue, and we will repair your machine. If your machine was not purchased from Wilkinson Supply, but is a brand we sell, you will be charged a $25 processing fee. Your proof of purchase must be present at the time of machine drop off. For machines not purchased from Wilkinson Supply, please call ahead.
How long will my machine be in the shop?
For updated wait times, please call us. Wait times differ based on season, machine type, & demand.
At times of peak demand, Wilkinson Supply cannot service machines from all retailers. To remedy this, there are times when we will service only machines purchased from Wilkinson Supply. We make this distinction at times when our shop is overwhelmed because we promise each customer that purchases a machine from Wilkinson supply priority service. This policy is applied per machine, not per customer.
